Formerly Dodecatheon. Part shade; dramatic downward facing flowers, whose sharply swept-back pink or white petals and gold stamens coming to a point give the impression of a shower of meteors flaming toward the earth; This is a spring ephemeral and will go completely dormant by early summer. Flower color is often variable by ecotype. Our form is usually white. Plants 1’-2’ feet tall; blooms April-May; zones 4-8; WV. ecotype.
